This tutorial will show you how you can use Audiogalaxy to stream music from your computer to your Android smartphone with ease. Here are the steps: Go to Audiogalaxy.com and sign up for a new account. You can login with your Facebook account as well – Audiogalaxy promises that they will not notify your friends of your music activities without your permission.

Meanwhile, the Audiogalaxy website will inform you that it is waiting for the helper application to be installed.

When the download is complete, your browser will bring up a security warning asking if you really want to run the .exe file. Click Run.

The Audiogalaxy Helper application would have installed itself and on the first run, the app will automatically start cataloging the usual music directories in your Documents folder. Right click on the system tray icon and choose Your Music Folders to select additional folders where your songs may be present and click OK.

Within a few minutes, you’ll see that the Audiogalaxy website is populated with your music files and you can actually play those files from the website as long as the Helper application is running. This will come in quite handy, especially when you’re at office and want to stream some music from your home computer.

To stream music to your Android phone, you’ll need the Audiogalaxy app for Android. Just click on the Droid icon on the bottom left and scan the QR code using a barcode scanner. Or use this Appbrain link. Install the app from the Android Market.

Launch the application, and now sign in using the ID that you created on the Audiogalaxy website.

All your music will be instantly available. Tap a song to play it.

You can hit the Search tab to search for songs. Audiogalaxy was very quick in searching songs during testing.

The Player tab shows the music that’s playing currently and gives you music controls. You can hit the Menu button on your phone and access the Settings.

In the Settings screen, you can easily disable headset controls and auto-locking of screen during music play back. The latter would mean more battery power consumed since your screen will not turn off. You can also choose High Quality Audio playback which means you need a really good internet connection.
