How Will it Work

Under the new system, anyone looking to get a new Airtel connection will need to walk into an Airtel authorized center with their Aadhar number and the store will verify their Biometrics (iris scan/fingerprint) with the UIDIA database. The details should instantly match and the connection gets activated immediately. Before this, a KYC was done using photocopies of various documents that manually needed to be submitted by everyone at an authorized center. After that, it used to take 24-48 hours for everything to be verified and only then could a user hope to start using the new SIM connection.
